We were very satisfied with our stay at Amaryllis Beach Resort.Visited: October 2008

We had a wonderful stay at Amaryllis Resort in Barbados. We were there from October 26th to November 5th.
The staff was pleasant, very helpful, and responsive to any request. The room was clean, adequately furnished, and was quite comfortable.
The sea was about a one-minute walk away, and the Caribbean blue and was most pleasant. Also, the breakfast was good. I prefer English style. Three cheers to the chef!
In addition, the ambience was relaxing. I would definitely return to Amaryllis on my next visit to Barbados. I will recommend Amaryllis Beach Resort without hesitation!

This was such a lovely place to stay during my holiday.
The location was perfect. It was very close to all the shops, beaches, restaurants and the all important St. Lawrence Gap - which is full of exciting nightlife.
I found all of the staff I dealt with at Worthing Court to be helpful and attentive. They all made me feel that no request or order was too tall for them to fulfill.
In addition, the staff on the front desk, and especially the manager, were all very polite and knowledgeable about things to do and see in Barbados.
This hotel is very reasonably priced (compared to other places I looked at staying). I would recommend it!

This is a great and central hotel. It is just across from the beautiful crystal clear, blue ocean of Barbados. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the staff and management are pleasant and efficient.
I would highly recommend the general manager, Alicia, for her excellent "all around" service to all the guests.

I have been staying at Worthing Court Apartment Hotel for the past four years, and have always enjoyed my visits.
The staff is very welcoming at the front desk. Also, the cleaning staff is excellent. My room was cleaned and in order when I got back on evenings. Also, the grounds were well taken care of.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone if asked, as I have had no complaints. What I also like is the location the atmosphere in general.

What a pleasant and central hotel! The rooms have been recently upgraded with new furniture, and the staff and management are exceptional!
On Thursdays, the manager invites all the guests to a cocktail party from 5:30-6:30 by the restaurant - and the BBQ after is delicious! The hotel’s service is excellent, too.
Worthing Court is centrally located, and the rooms are cleaned well. I will definitely be returning!

It was a first class and informative tour.

Ted is a people person, and ensures that he and his driver Hal look after all the people on tour.
Ted is a fountain of information - mixed with his unique humor. This is a trip not to be missed. It is a reminder to us all, not to take things too seriously - especially on holiday.
We look forward to visiting again, and going on another trip.

This was a peaceful paradise for relaxing on the beach or in the pool. We also enjoyed the pristine accommodation, and the succulent feasts at the restaurants.
We will be back very soon.

I came to Barbados for the first time for the Crop Over Festival - even though I live just an hour plane ride away in Guyana South America.
It was so good, I returned to Barbados less than six weeks after my first visit.
My stay at BBC was good. My best friend came down from the USA, and we linked up there.
The food was excellent. Make sure you eat the curried lamb. Also, there were some delightful bite sized sandwiches for tea, so make sure it's on your list.
The staff was friendly. The music after dinner was kind of retro, but still current - if you love a good 'jump-up'. Wear comfortable shoes when going down for dinner, so u can shake your leg afterwards.
We had excellent room service, and the front desk staff was wonderful. It was nice, reasonable, and still in the limelight - near Miami Beach, The Gap, etc.

Pisces offers fantastic food in a brilliant setting.
Posted by adymartin
Once we discovered Pisces, we found it difficult to go anywhere else. The tables beside the harbour wall were in a perfect setting to enjoy the delicious fare that they serve here.
The choice of dishes was excellent and varied. They served fish, pasta, steak, and vegetarian entrees. Every dish was prepared and presented beautifully. My partner said it was some of the most deliciously fresh tasting pasta she had ever had. We all went back for a steak on our last night, and they were absolutely divine!
The staff was exceptional. Each time we went, we had two or three different people serving us, monitoring our happiness without being intrusive at all. Service was quick and exceedingly polite.
The prices, we thought, were more than reasonable. However, bear in mind I am English, and we are used to paying through the nose for almost everything in our country! Seriously though, it was an excellent value for the quality of the food you receive.
In conclusion, do not miss out on trying this restaurant. It would be a shame for you to miss out.

My wife and I married at Southern Palms, and it was one of the best times of our lives!
The resort was amazing, ensuring that everything went to plan. Jenni, the events co-ordinator, was superb - from start to finish.
Southern Palms was a five-minute walk from all the excitement of St. Lawrence Gap, teeming with bars and restaurants. Our favorite was Pisces. It had a lovely setting where you can watch the turtles as you eat your delicious food.
Our room overlooked the beautiful beach. It was never overcrowded, and had clean white sands; clear, warm sea; swaying palms; and was frequented by the friendliest locals on the planet.
The room itself was clean and cool, and the full size fridge was a great addition. The complimentary rum and coke was a nice touch indeed. The bathroom was clean and functional, and our room was serviced every day.
There were always cleaning staff, security guards, and maintenance guys around. The hotel was very well maintained.
All the staff were friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. The bar staff knew us almost instantly. I think I told them my room number once, then they all seemed to know it from then on.
The bar area was perfectly situated, right next to the beach. Sipping daquiris and watching the turtles in the sea (or as happened to us, laying eggs right in front of us) was just incredible!
Southern Palms is a brilliant place to stay. They had great facilities, and amazing staff. Also, Barbados, as a whole, was absolutely stunning.
We can't wait to get back and 'keep it real' with our Bajan friends very soon.

This is the place you want to get married! Visited: October 2008

My family is originally from Barbados, and my husband and I chose this place to get married. It was amazing!
The view from the second floor sitting area was the true meaning of what Barbados was all about. The grounds were beautiful. The day of my wedding, my guests commented on how breathtaking it all was.
The staff was impeccable, and the house was very kid-friendly. It is walkable to the Crane Resort, so you can easily access one of the best beaches in Barbados.
I would highly recommend this place for a wedding or even a family gathering. The lack of air conditioning was no problem, as the trade winds off the Atlantic at night made the house cool - and also lulled you to sleep. I loved it!

This is a fabulous spot down the block from Oistins fish-fry venue. Locals start lining up every evening for Grannies world-famous fried chicken necks, gizzards, and livers. Her flyin' fish ain't to be sneezed at, either!
It has that fast food ambiance and no table service - but great food!

If you are looking for a great time in Barbados, don't stay at Rossomar Rental guest house. It has no great view, no radio, and no telephone in the room. It's really stuck in a little corner up an unpaved road that leads to a dead end.
If you are looking for a cozy, family oriented place, or a romantic place to stay this is not the place. If you need some place to stay in a lay over, it's the ideal place because one night is enough.
Janice Ward seems to love money, and she's not a people person. Trust me, I've stayed here, and their web site is very, very misleading. I have spoken to Janice at length about her web site, and told her it needs to be changed because it's one huge lie.

My wife and I stayed at this resort for two weeks, and found it to be a pleasant surprise.
Needless to say, we were unsure what to expect staying at a resort which was rated for the most part as a three-star. As stated, we were pleasantly surprised.
While the resort was older, it was very clean and the grounds were maintained perfectly.
There was a band (trio) that played in the bar area at least three nights during the week.
We had a studio apartment with a kitchen facing the beach. The kitchen had two burners, a fridge (small), and a sink. There was no microwave in the apartment. However, you can have housekeeping bring one to your room for your stay.
There was also a mini mart on the grounds, and the prices were pretty competitive with market prices.
Best of all, there were no bugs!
My complaints were that the sliding door (wood) was a pain to open. Also, the waves on the beach were too much. They were too overpowering to really spend much time in the water. You do have a real hill to climb if you want to catch a bus into Bridgetown, also.
Our real problem came not with the resort, but with American Airlines which lost all four of our bags - and took four days to return. This seems to be a re-occuring problem with them, as we met a number people who had the same problem. By the way, the resort does not provide necessities if you lose your luggage.
One other thing - be prepared. Barbadso is expensive!

Although it was a nice setting, we found the housekeeping to be very lax. Some days we did not get a maid. Although we do not mind making our own beds, it was difficult to use damp, dirty towels several times to shower with. We paid a lot extra to have a one-bedroom apartment, but we feel this was a rip off.
We enjoy making the occasional meal and trying the local produce, but it was difficult to do so through the lack of equipment. It was stated that it was a fully equipped kitchen, but we have had better on a camping holiday, honestly.
Going back to the housekeeping bit, the ladies spent most of their time gossiping on the stairs and not moving very far. When we asked for anything, we would get a scowl and a "What?" reply - not very Bajan at all. The porters and reception staff were lovely, and made us feel welcome. But, oh dear, the only time the maids seemed a bit interested was when we were about to leave and suddenly they were around like bees to a honey pot for the tips. Yes, of course we tipped, we were too scared not to.
Do we stay again? No. We stay often in Barbados, and know this is not the usual service we get.
