I visited this resort in June of 2008 and have an updated review for those that may be interested.
I know that the Enchanted Garden has many longtime fans, including myself, and just thought I'd post a review for any who may still be pining for it....PICTURES ARE POSTED AS WELL

I stayed at Nirvana on the Beach in November of 2008. I travelled alone and I needed somewhere that was safe and affordable without the touristy crowds you find at most all inclusive resorts. I found exactly what I needed at Nirvana! It was a week of absolute paradise. The beach is amazing, the accommodations are safe, clean and VERY welcoming. The security guards, drivers, and house keepers were absolutely accommodating - all I had to do was ask and it magically appeared for me! Nirvana is a first class place for those of you who are looking for a truly relaxing holiday!

This place is gorgeous. In your dreams of opening a beach side bar/restaurant this is what your dreaming of. The food is good. The prices are good for travelers but high for the area. You can find cheaper up the road. Worth the trip...totally. Bring your suit, swim, surf eat drink. I saw coach buses there three different times it's a known spot.

What a wonderful place. You would do yourself a diservice if you did not stop in and eat at Woodys. Woody and his wife Cherry are not only married but a unit. They serve their meals with great pride. We had the veggie burgers and they were amazing. The pina coladas are the best ever made yet on this planet. Get ready for some table tennis and keep and eye out for that Cherry she's an ace!

my husband and i went for our honeymoon in september. the trip started bad because the staff at the airport were so rude!!
when we got to the resort the staff at the front desk was awsome we alrady had paid for a oceanfront suite and they upgraded us when we told them it was our honeymoon!
the room was great and the view was amazing!! the entertainment staff was great to they had different show nightly and always got the crowd into it
we had an awsome time at Riu and have told friends about this resort and are planing another trip....the only down side was that the mix drinks were very week but the beer is not!!

What upset me the most about this hotel was that the web site is misleading. There were no bath products in the bath, except a tiny bar of soap. The towels were thread bare, mismatched, and rough.
The owner's son seemed disinterested in his guests, and the food was mostly from cans. If the price was less, I wouldn't have been surprised, but they charged a lot of money for what we got.
In addition, if you want to go anywhere on the island, it's a $30. cab ride each way! Be prepared to put a lot of additional money into a stay at Coral Cove, as it was very isolated.
On a positive note, the property itself was lovely. It's a shame that the web site was so misleading.

I stood at the Grand Lido Negril and I was impressed. I had a oceanfront Jacuzzi suite. I never had to leave the room with 24-hour room service and the beach out the front door.
The hot tub in the suite was to die for. The "Fountain of Youth" facial was amazing, too. The first night I drank three bottles of champagne in my suite, and it was "wow".
The staff and the manager, Roberto, were so attentive and just great. They also had a beautiful beach and pool. The bar service was non stop everywhere - pool, room, and beach. It was amazing.
The French and Japanese restaurants were both excellent. I even got a cake for my birthday.
I have never been spoiled like I was here. I felt like a queen. Everyone knew my name here, too, and they were so nice.

We stayed in Sans Souci in August 2008, and had a wonderful time.
The hotel and grounds were welcoming, charming, and clean. The staff was very friendly, and the food was to die for. We had a penthouse suite with views over the ocean. It was pure bliss.
It was an amazing holiday. There were lots of excursions, too. We visited Italy on our engagement, and didn't think anything would top it. Boy, were we wrong.
We are going back next year. I can't wait. It is certainly worth a visit, although don't tell everyone - we don't want to spoil it!

My wife, father, best friend and I stayed here for two nights. It was my second time staying here (the first was about ten or 11 years ago). We enjoyed our stay.
The price, $75 per night, was very reasonable. The room was clean and well kept. There were a few minor things - like the AC looking like it was on its last leg (but it worked fine); and the light in the closet being out of order. However, on the whole, there was nothing wrong with the place.
The staff was courteous and friendly, and the laundry service washed a good load of clothes and got them back to me in about three hours.
We had a room with a balcony, which faced the beach. The door to the balcony would not lock, but there were bars on the outside of the balcony so intruders wouldn't have been able to get in from that side anyway.
I recommend this place for anyone looking for a relatively cheap place to stay during the off-peak season.

The rooms had a smell, were less than clean, and the breakfast wasn't much. The walk to the room was long, and we received major attitude from one of the staff here when we sat by the pool. I wouldn't stay here again.
There were no pictures taken because I didn't want to be reminded of this place.

I was here in September for my first vacation ever, and I was stunned by the people, attractions and the atmosphere.
I was so happy with everything that I am hopefully coming back in February. I can't wait to see all the entertainers who were so sweet. Also, the staff was simply awsome. Hope to see you there!

For a two-week business trip, my stay at Villa Bella was grand. My room overlooked the surrounding lush green of the mountains of central Jamaica.
The staff was very attentive. The entire hotel was clean and very well managed. The hotel was located within an easy walk to the center of Christiana for shopping.
The highlight was the excellent food in the hotel restaurant. Local Jamaican food, as well as American dishes, were available for each meal. Bar (try Monica’s special rum punch), laundry service, friendly staff, Internet access, and cool mountain climate made my trip much more than I had hoped for.

We do a girls trip to Cancun, and stay at the Riu Cancun every fall. We love Riu Resorts. This was the first year we ventured to Jamaica.
The entire trip was amazing. The hotel accommodations were great. The employees went out of their way to be polite and friendly. The food was really good. We may never go back to Cancun.
I recommend Riu Ocho Rios very highly.

I love the pillar houses. We stayed in April and November 2008. The place was renovated over the winter of 2008. It now has a spa, larger balconies on pillar houses, and windows (not louvers). You can't beat the value here.
