Don't leave STX without eating here. Fresh, tasty food, beautiful presentation, adequate service and pleasant decor a little off the beaten track makes this a winner.

My boyfriend and I ate here a few weeks ago. We both had two Sprites each, and it costed us $10! Ugh! That would buy ten two-liters back home! I couldn't believe they charged for refills, either.
The food was okay, but nothing wonderful! I wouldn't go back. There are way too many great local and fun places to eat on St. Croix.

We've been to St. John twice, and Zozos fast became one of our favorite restaurants. The food is terrific, but the views at sunset and after are spectacular. With St. Thomas glittering in the distance, there isn't a better spot than at the bar for dinner.
It's the same great food with attentive service - and a view that's one in a million!

The Shipwreck Landing at Coral Bay on the east side of St. John is a great place to eat. The food is fantastic - open air casual dining with seafood, chicken fingers, burgers, etc. It seems like a lot of locals eat there which is usually a sign that the place is worth going to.
There is also a great bar that serves strong drinks with darts or music with a water view. It is connected to a few neat open air gift shops, so it is a great place to stop and spend some time.
Coral Bay is a nice diversion from Cruz Bay, and there are wild donkeys and goats wandering the streets as you head there.

We discovered Havana Blue during our first visit to St. Thomas in 2005, and absolutely loved it. My husband, my teen son and I each had the lobster - pricy, but absolutely delicious.
The view of the water is stunning, with an occasional cruise ship passing by.
On our last visit, I discovered their blueberry and vanilla martini. We will be returning there in a few weeks, as this is now a regular stop for us.

Pavillion is excellent, but I must add more comments.

Yes, the Pavillion at Maho is excellent. My young-adult daughter and I ate our dinners there. The portions were so large - especially for dinners - we split the meal. There was always a variety of entrees to choice from, which was great, since meat was not always a preference.
Margarita Phil near Mongoose Junction by Cruz Bay was a nice place for lunch because they had a nicely prepared menu. Do try the conch fritters! They go well with the margaritas!
Now, one must venture and do the local color. I recommend the kiosk across the ferry docks in Cruz Bay - Sheila's. She prepares meat, chicken and fried fish that is so Virgin Islands. With piled up side orders, that is so unique to USVI.
If one has access to trying the pattes, do try them. They are actually a version of the empanada with a choice of fillings of conch, saltfish, the meats or shrimps or crabs. Yum! Also, try their homemade juices, too. I suggest passion fruit, guava, tamarind or ginger.
Forget mainland eating, and go the Virgin Island way. You will love it and will miss it when you get back home!

The food was great, but we had a waiter here one night who was terrible.
It did not seem to matter to him if he was good or not - since the tip was automatically added to the bill (that was a wooping 18%!). Not the next time!
The girl who waited on us was great - and she did not add the 18%.

My wife and I dined at Lotus recently, and our experience was better than we ever could have expected! We could not believe we found this gem on St. Thomas, but we are so glad that we did.
I had a surf and turf with filet mignon and local lobster that was to die for. My wife had a phenomenal sushi platter. Their menus were very creative and unique. I only wish we had found it earlier.
The service was top-notch, and I clearly recommend this to anyone staying on St. Thomas. You will not be disappointed.

While guests at the Bolongo Bay Beach Resort in May of 2008, we had our dinners and breakfasts at The Lobster Grille. Everything was amazing.
We always got to chat with Chef Rob, who made his way to guest tables to greet them and chat.
Presentation, flavors, and overall dining experience was top notch here - and the atmosphere was very relaxing. From the shrimp cocktail to the hot chocolate dessert, we couldn't wait to return each evening to try a new dish. The shrimp scampi is amazing.
Don't miss an opportunity to have a meal here. Oh, and breakfast was great - but make sure you bring your appetite. The one thing you can count on is large portions of food.

You'll find great food, a great view, and great times at Iggie's.

We visited St. Thomas in May of 2008, and stayed at the Bolongo Bay.
Iggie's is a lively spot on the beach with great food, great views and a wonderfully friendly staff. From the appetizers to the dinners, you'll enjoy every bite. The portions are huge. Just try the Fish and Chips, and you'll agree. Most places give you a ton of breading and very little fish - not the case at Iggie's. The Coconut Shrimp is to die for - and don't forget to have a Rum Punch.
Wednesday night is Carnival night, and the food and fun are in great abundance. They have a Mocko Jumbie dancer, and King Heron - who walks on broken glass - as well as some very impressive fire dancing.
We enjoyed everything about Iggie's, and would encourage anyone to make sure they stop by for some of Miss Viola's home cooking!

Yes, Margarita Phill's has a great drink menu, and the food looks like it would be fantastic. The problem is that it is outrageously noisy, and your order will take 40 minutes to get to you.
I have eaten here four times in the last five years. Every time I have, the service, noise and wait time was awful.
Don't waste your time. I would give it one star, but it is clean.

Zozo's has, by far, the best menu, atmosphere and service of all of St. John's restaurants. It is not on the low end for price, but you get what you pay for at Zozo's.
The calamari is incredible.
Make sure to get reservations for sunset. The attire for men would be pants and any collared shirt.

From the great Italian cuisine to the freindly owners and staff; Roma is one of my family's favorites. We almost always eat here the first and last night of our trip.
This place is a no-brainer when it comes to great food and a comfortable atmosphere.

It is located on the waterfront in Charlotte Amalie. Ask for Carolyn or Marvin as your waitstaff. I can't say enough about them.
They also offer two-for-one drinks and reduced priced appies during happy hour. Also, they serve the best french onion soup in the islands. In addition, they have very good chicken nachos, conch fritters and jerk chicken wings. Pina coladas are outstanding here, too.

The Caesar Salad was great, but I ordered the filet mignon - which was adequate at best. I found it livery. Maybe that is because I'm from Chicago, I expect more from a steak. However, the quality was what I would expect to pick up at a local grocery store and cook (better) at home.
I would return to the restaurant, but would order something else.
