Happy Bay Villa is very beautiful. The gardening and landscaping are perfect, the maintenance of the house is great. The housekeeper is super friendly. It has a nice layout.

The walk to the beach part is not a real way to say it, and so I give 3 stars because it is really advertised like this, but not everyone can walk to the beach. My husband is very fit, but this downhill, viney and rocky path should be termed a "hike", and while it is a beautiful beach there is nothing there. So folks would want to also try and carry towels and drinks, and it is a challenge that was too big for our family to do. The other beach has a nice restaurant, but I do not either see a practical way to walk/hike there. The road is dusty, and it is very buggy in the grasses.

Also, the pool does not have a shallow end for children, we were told that it did. But it was a bench seat down to the deeper water, so still not a shallow "swim area" as we were asking.

The breeze from the outer gazebo area is very pleasant, the kitchen is super well equipped, and for grownups the pool is great. And, again, a picture could be taken anywhere outside on the property as it is beautifully kept.

If I begin to talk about Monique's guest house I won't finish because of how disgusted I am of the place, the owner is a rip off and a B**** to begin with. I went to Monique's in October 2008 to stay because I had a family funeral to attend. The first night there were roaches in the bathtub, they swicthed our room, my mom and I that is, for it was almost midnight, by the next day I decided to make boil some water in their kettle for some tea, as I opened the electric kettle I almost vomitted it was filthy and dirty something that had not been washed for months. before we reported this they called saying we had to leave the room as they said someone had reserved the room although we were told it's low season. We had already unpacked everything so we had to repack as they showed no sympathy. We brought the kettle to the manager's attention she said b/c of the weather it must of happened in a couple days or so. LIAR...it was nasty, gross, unsanitary you name it. She offered nothing, we were easy going as we were only in town for a funeral, to make a long story short I wish I called the health department, anyways I have a photo of the kettle in my phone which I will be posting, Moniques's guest house is not the place to me, she told us to have breakfast on the house, to realize that when we got back to Toronto our Visa has been charged $30US...I am furious and advise no one to stay there. The hotel is in the heart of the cruise line dock area and is busy when the ships are in. Although the accommodations are not overly fancy, they are adequate, especially if you are not staying more than a few nights. The air conditioners work, the rooms are spacious and clean. The balcony overview of the busy streets below was pleasant - if you get a sunny side view. There are several decent restaurants nearby. I would come back again - and probably will.

When I read the other reviews I was sceptical that it could be that good. It was! Sue and Buddy were the best. Whatever we needed they would furnish it even WD 40 for removing sticker glue. We loved the place, the views, everything. There were four of us that shared a double bedroom room. So pretty and clean. The bananas off her tree were so good. If or when we go back we will surely stay at The Green Iguana again. Thanks Sue and Buddy! People like you are what makes a good vacation great.

We made reservations to stay at the Hilton for a weekend in February. The check-in time was around 3pm and even though we arrived at 7pm our room was not ready for 2hrs. We had the kids with us - two of them - and they had to sleep in our arms until around 9pm. Did I mention that I was 7months pregnant as well?

We were given a complimentary buffet dinner but that was hardly enjoyed considering our state of mind and the fact that a lot of the dishes were finished.

The restaurant staff was generally friendly except for the chef making the omlette on the Sunday morning - he was a bit rude.

The entertainment left much to be desired. There was not much to do at night and we were forced to turn in early.

All in all, the stay was lovely. The pool area was great and we had great weather.
